Ratgeb painted 1519-21 the
Herrenberg altar piece,
now shown at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, Germany.
Ratgeb, a leader of the peasants' war, was prosecuted, then drawn and quartered by horses (1526).
A multimedia project (CAVE and CD-ROM) investigates the altar piece
relating to the choir of the church of Herrenberg.
Artists, architects, historians, art historians, media researcher
participate in this transdisciplinary
project at the Universities of Stuttgart and Tübingen and the
Fraunhofer Institute IAO Stuttgart, Germany.
